Like Tulsi leaves, Durlava or Basil leaves are also considered auspicious in the hindu traditions and are used as offering in the worship of Lord Jagannath and Maa Laxmi. Durlava plants are often called as Karpura Tulsi And has played as an inspiration for us in designing the primary motifs on this saree. Handspun and Handwoven out of natural tussar silks, this Saree is indeed rooted to our ancient traditions in every way.

Splendid in design, these 'Bandha' or 'ikat' or 'tie-dye' desi Tussar Silk Sarees are amongst the finest of weaves known globally. Intricately woven by our master weavers from Gopalpur, Odisha, a geographically identified hub for Tussar Weaves.

‘Odisha Ikat’ also known as “Bandha of Odisha”, is a resist dyeing technique. Since 2007, the “Bandha of Odisha” has been geographically identified. It is a process of tie-dying the wrap and weft threads, so that designs on the loom prior to weaving can be created. Because of its design process, it has been called “poetry on loom”.
