An handwoven masterpiece featuring an exquisite border work done using a traditional technique locally termed 'Phoda Kumbha'. The body adorns itself with classic 'butis' or motifs representing the 'Nakshatra' evenly spead across the pitch black body.
The use of complimentary metallic shades of gold and silver on the borders and bronze as the primary shade on the pallu makes it look even more luxurious.
The anchal of this saree is an intricate work depicting the reign and glory of a 'Gajapati' accompanied by musicians and even celestial beings.
‘Odisha Ikat’ also known as “Bandha of Odisha”, is a resist dyeing technique. Since 2007, the “Bandha of Odisha” has been geographically identified. It is a process of tie-dying the wrap and weft threads, so that designs on the loom prior to weaving can be created. Because of its design process, it has been called “poetry on loom”.
*Blouse piece included
